New Moon and Full Moon Ceremonies

A question I often get is

“What is a Moon ceremony”?

Today I am sharing just the basics of a New Moon and Full Moon ceremony.

If you want more information tailored to the specific new/full moon each month you can find that on my blog. It is posted just before or on each new/full moon. Or, subscribe to the Authentic Self Revealed Monthy Newsletter where I share specifically focused information on the new/full moon.

What is a New Moon ceremony?

A New Moon ceremony is a ritual that is performed at the time of a new moon, which marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle.

The purpose of a New Moon ceremony is to reflect on personal goals and desires, set intentions for the future, and cultivate a sense of inner peace and balance.

A typical New Moon ceremony may include activities such as:

  • Reflection: Reflecting on the past lunar cycle and considering what has been learned, what has been accomplished, and what still needs to be worked on.

  • Intentions: Setting intentions for the upcoming lunar cycle, such as personal goals, relationship improvements, and self-care practices.

  • Meditation: Engaging in a guided or self-led meditation to connect with inner wisdom and gain a deeper understanding of personal desires and goals.

  • Journaling: Write down reflections, intentions, and other thoughts in a journal to reinforce personal growth and self-discovery.

  • Symbolism: Incorporating symbols or objects that hold personal significance, such as candles, crystals, or flowers, to enhance the experience and promote a deeper connection with the universe.

What is a Full Moon ceremony?

A Full Moon ceremony is a ritual that is performed during the time of a full moon, which marks the culmination or end of a lunar cycle.

The purpose of a Full Moon ceremony is to reflect on personal growth, release negative thoughts and emotions, and celebrate accomplishments.

A typical Full Moon ceremony may include activities such as:

  • Reflection: Reflecting on personal growth and change during the current lunar cycle, considering what has been learned, what has been accomplished, and what still needs to be worked on.

  • Release: Letting go of negative thoughts, emotions, and experiences that are no longer serving you. This may include writing them down, burning them, or otherwise symbolically releasing them.

  • Celebration: Celebrating accomplishments and positive changes that have occurred during the current lunar cycle.

  • Meditation: Engaging in a guided or self-led meditation to connect with inner wisdom and gain a deeper understanding of personal growth and change.

  • Symbolism: Incorporating symbols or objects that hold personal significance, such as candles, crystals, or flowers, to enhance the experience and promote a deeper connection with the universe.

By performing these rituals regularly, you can cultivate a sense of balance and harmony, align with your personal goals, and improve your overall well-being.

Happy Moon Musing,

With Love and Gratitude,

Holly
