January is a very popular time for people to decide to start exercising more.
For some of us, the word exercise creates a less-than-desirable reaction.
I suggest just try moving your body more each day. Keep it simple and add more movement to the things you are already doing. Like standing up and stretching and maybe doing 1 squat when you get up from your chair couch or anytime you have been sitting. You can even set a reminder on your phone to get up and move.
Dance while brushing your teeth, park far away and walk to an entrance, use the stairs.
Try something new like chair yoga, or take the family rollerblading, ice-skating, or to
swim at the local YMCA
Play tag, and see who can do the most jumping jacks or sit-ups in 2 minutes. Have fun and try different ways of moving your body.
What feels good? Keep doing that.
